President of the Vancouver Skateboard Coalition, Michelle Pezel, has created a girls’ skate and motorbike ‘zine called Idlewood. The zine is a first for Michelle and her tenacious female companions which subverts expectations by mixing a twee aesthetic, like gingham, with macho photos of oily hands and engine smoke. - Shelly Lee Jones

A film by Roel & Job Wouters.
Me and my nephew Gradus (4 years) are very ambitious concerning letters. Spontanious jam sessions in our studio inspired us to make this video about the fun of drawing letters. Directed by my brother Roel. A true family project.

‘paris street view’ is an outdoor exhibition in amsterdam’s zuidas area by german photographer michael wolf. the exhibition consists of 24 extremely large-format works installed in the streets for public viewing.
Over his years of living and working in hong kong and paris, michael wolf has concentrated on anthropological issues with a focus on urban living. contemporary visual culture features prominently in the meaning of his work and subjects such as population density, privacy and voyeurism are recurrent themes. ‘paris street view’ deals with the cultural identity of paris. with the aid of google street view technology, wolf investigates the concept of representation and symbolism. by using pixelated images from the internet, he breaks through paris’ nearly universally recognizable photographic iconography and suggests a new way of reading the city. two people embracing on a busy paris street, for instance, are a playful reference to robert doisneau’s ubiquitous ‘le baiser de l’hôtel de ville‘ from 1950. but cropping out parts of images on google street view, ‘photos of photos’ are created that shed a new light on a city in which nearly everything has already been photographed.
So it’s Orange Wednesdays and I’m going to see GREEN ZONE tonight. Now, Allan doesn’t understand why I’m in love with Matt Damon so hard. He doesn’t even get why Marky Marky rocks my world? Madness! Thought I’d share with you all, some of the very reasons why.
HOW’D YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?

Sweet Andy Summers, sweet.
Fecal Face gets a preview of “Ghosts of the Barbary Coast” a solo show from Jeremy Fish opening Dec 4, 2008 at Fifty24SF in San Francisco.

Sweet studio, sweet research, sweet show, sweet model making skills, sweet drawing, sweet beard etc etc.

“Jeremy actually chastised me for taking photos where you could see the projector. I think he wants you guys to think we’re more talented than we actually are. Not me. I’m fine with being mediocre.”

“-This is Travis finishing up the wall piece. See that double headed bird above him with the banner that says “Not 23 Years Old?” There’s a funny story about that. I mentioned this briefly before, but while we were in town we did a talk for the Dallas Society of Visual Communications. Each of us had to speak for about 20 minutes about our personal work and how it ties in with our commercial work. I haven’t spoken in front of a crowd since I was in High School and I was really really nervous about the whole thing. So I made a bunch of notes so that I wouldn’t get up to the podium and completely forget who I was and what I do. And so the first thing I say when I get up there is, “Hello, my name is Michael Sieben. I’m 23 years old and I live in Austin, Texas…” and Travis totally yells at me from his seat, “You’re not 23!” and I hadn’t even realized that I had said that I was 23. Because I’m not. I’m 32. And I guess I was just so nervous that I looked at my notes and totally got dyslexic for a second. Anyway, it was probably the most embarrassing way imaginable to start off my talk. I hate Travis.”
Extract from Michael Sieben’s guest blog about a show called ‘Low Tech High Life’ on the infamously fabulous Fecal Face blog. Everything about Fecal Face is good, the collaborations, the collective excitment, the range of work. However I would like to point out that really I’m just in love with Michael Sieben.
